Whenever I used to go walking to my yoga classes, I used to pass by a place called La Petite Tarte in DeWaterkant that smelled delicious. For the first time by boyfriend and I had time in the morning to have breakfast in a place that’s not our kitchen so we decided to go there!
La Petite Tarte is very cute restaurant. It has a french-style to it, like a more high-end french bistro; the smell of butter definitely takes you back to France. The decoration and feel of the place is very quaint, it’s a small restaurant with a lot of cute and homey decorations that serves a breakfast menu all day, they do offer a bit more on their menu for when you go to have lunch and want something other than breakfast. They have croissants, quiche, sandwiches (toast), salad (which they change everyday), dessert like tarts and cakes, tea, coffee, wine, etc. When I went I had a croissant with the house-made jams and it was very good. I really recommend this place for breakfast or even for lunch because the desserts looked amazing. The service was very good and the price was very reasonable for our breakfast!
It’s perfect to go with friends for a nice quiet but fun meal. Also it’s in DeWaterkant and it is a lovely area to walk in with all the beautiful small colorful houses around.

So I don’t really do a lot of apparel shopping in CT. The only stores I normally go to are Zara or Topshop if I need something; other than that I’d rather wait until I go back to America. But I recently found some very very cute stores. One of these stores is called Babette’s Clothing. There are two stores, one in the city centre on Church St. and the other one on Claremont; I’ve only been to the one on Church Street. This store is very cute; it has a vintage-quirky-feel to it. What I found really cool and interesting about the store is that they sell vintage clothes that they have modified themselves to make them have a more modern fit and design to them. They also sell clothes from local designers, which I love, I’m all about supporting your local designers! I liked the jewelry the most. I love love love jewelry and their pieces are really nice. They have everything from quirky, to vintage, to modern!
If you are looking for a cool place to find clothing/ accessories/ jewelry in Cape Town, this should be one of your choices! Great store and great stuff.

Night life in Cape Town is really fun you have bars and night clubs. The truth is that me and my boyfriend normally stick to bars, I don’t really like night clubs in general. Bars in Cape Town are very chill but very fun. One of my favorite bars in Cape Town is in Greenpoint, near to where I live; it is very new and it is called Cabrito. It’s a trendy Mexican bar (maybe I can identify with the Mexican part of it and that’s why I like to go there so much!) that was done by the same people that own the Mexican restaurant El Burro, which is located right above Cabrito.
Cabrito is a very nice bar to go to. What I love about it the most, besides it being Mexican, is that they sell really special liquor that you don’t find anywhere else in Cape Town. When I go out I normally stick to beer, wine and cider, but in this bar they sell very special kinds of craft beer, tequila and mezcal (another very very POTENT mexican liquor), not your typical really cheap tequila like Don Julio, and so my boyfriend and I sometimes go to try something new. We have made it a “thing” that we will try something new every time we go!
The bar has a very nice design, very simple, made out of wood, but also very modern. The ambience is very fun but very chill, I think your night really depends on the group you’re going there with. So make sure to go with a fun group of people if you do decide to try out this great little place.
