Bombay Brasserie

Bombay Brasserie is one of the two restaurants at the Taj Hotel on Wale St. It is one of the most delicious Indian food I’ve had in my life (outside of India of course). The first time I went I didn’t like the menu as much but I think it was because I went during winter and the menu has less variety because they aren’t as busy. But then I saw online that the menu changed for summer and I went to try it out again and I loved it so much that I went twice in a week!

The food is delicious, the service is good, it gets really full now in summer (so make sure you call in advance to make a reservation). If you like Indian food this is the place to go. It is a bit pricy but it is worth it! I tried Bukhara and it doesn’t even come close to the quality of the food at  Bombay Brasserie.

Kitima is simply delicious

I think  I found one of the best curries and vegetable dumplings in the Western Cape…. They are at Kitima. It is a Thai place in Hout Bay and words can’t even describe how delicious our meal was. Well they actually can, I ate 10 vegetable dumplings! Although it is delicious, it is pricey, I’m warning you, but if you’re looking for a delicious meal and don’t mind spending extra for it you have to go (maybe you can plan it for a special occasion). What I didn’t like about the place is the service, our waiter was quite arrogant and didn’t pay much attention to us. Also there isn’t that much of a vibe, maybe it was just the day we went. But I think that if you go, you really just go for the food, because it was really good.

My boyfriend and I have tried many many places in Cape Town that have dumplings and curries, and most of them don’t have tasty vegetable dumplings, the nice dumplings in these places normally have pork or beef, so I’m so happy that I finally found a place that does the vegetable ones with so much flavor. That night we ordered the vegetable spring rolls as our starters to share, then for main course I had my 10 dumplings and my boyfriend had a peanut chicken curry that was unbelievable (order the extra side of rice for the curry), and we shared a side of tempura mushroom mix.
